A BRIEF INTRODUCTION

About Rashes

A rash is a skin’s reaction to an irritant such as an allergen. Rashes may itch, burn, or cause pain. They may be hot to the touch or not. A rash may have raised bumps or be completely flat, and they can show up on any part of the skin. All of these characteristics and more give medical providers clues as to what caused the rash.

Rashes

A QUICK GUIDE

Causes of Rashes

There are many causes of rashes, including: allergies, autoimmune disease, reactions to medications, irritants (such as poison ivy), excessive heat, pregnancy, certain viral and bacterial infections. The skin is the largest organ in the human body, and it is affected by everything our bodies touch and consume. As such, it can be difficult to decide what’s causing a rash and how to get rid of it. A qualified medical professional can help. Our providers are trained to diagnose and treat rashes and the underlying causes.
